The article presents connection between innovation, innovative competence and industrial safety. The author makes considerations about innovation in the context of competitiveness and market competition of company. Further attempts defi ne innovative competences and next presents their importance and role for the development of a safety culture. The author supposes that investing in development of innovative competences and constantly increasing the level of awareness of the industrial safety of all involved in innovative projects will improve the functioning of the organization.
